This week will be mainly spent preparing the nest for our visitors Pily & Ruthie, who are to arrive with us on Monday. First we travel the 9hour drive to Townsville to get some kilometers on the car (something to do with it being a lease) on Friday, spend a day as a family in a city we've never been in and then on Sunday we pick up our very anticipated guests and travel the 9 hours back the next day!
I am definitely looking forward to going away and then having them here of course (Pily being one of my 3 regular readers i better be saying this too *wink*) so i know this week will be a short one. Today i already re-tidied the spare room as it had again become the junk room after my last clean up, it's all too easy to just have a spare room to throw things in and forget about! I'm sure Pily will appreciate my efforts and keep it like this *snig*
Another thing we've done since my last post was decide on a birthday party theme for the almost 3 year old in the house. Seeing as this will probably be the first year he actually remembers after the event and knows what's going on we thought we'd make it a good one so we decided on a Dinosaur Party!!!
As you can imagine he's very excited, he handed out his little dinosaur invitaions at church on Sunday and has already put in his order from the latest Kmart Toy Sale Catalogue that he wants EVERTHING! LOL! "That one and that one and that one" etc...
IN preparation of this event we also tried facepainting on Jesse to see if he liked it, his request was Spiderman (Now just to clear up any misconceptions he has never seen the movies of course but just walk through Kmart or look at a catalogue and spiderman is always there so up to now we're happy witht that) and working from memory i came up with this... i think i have to practice some more but Jesse was more than happy!
The last thing that is worth a mention that will mostly interest our Chilean correspondants is that Jesse has found a taste for Harina Tostada that was sent by Grandma a few weeks ago
(for those of you not familiar with this substance it is toasted wheat kernels ground into a coarse powder) Mum isn't a fan but it has definitely become a Daddy & Jesse tradition to smother any visible part of the red flesh on watermelon with this crunchy powder and then some. A true Chileno some would say LOL!
Always exciting having friends come to stay - enjoy your weekend away in the big smoke picking them up. Boy has Jesse grown - his invite to his party looks great as does his spiderman face. He looks like he is having the time of his life.
ReplyDeletewe wish we could be at the party. Although I'm not sure any of my girls would look good as spiderman!
ReplyDeleteHave a cupcake for us Jesse!
time for an update Carol
